Frederique Constant’s first collection of NFT timepieces

Frederique Constant’s first collection of NFT timepieces

Time to Travel:
Frederique Constant’s first collection of NFT timepieces sold out in less than 48h!

On May 28th, 2022, in collaboration with the agency Rarecubes and on the Exclusible Web3 platform, Frederique Constant unveiled the Time to Travel series of 888 NFTs in tribute to the 10th Anniversary of the Brand’s iconic Classics Worldtimer Manufacture.

Ranging from a classic appearance to unique and colored designs, these NFT timepieces were in high demand, having sold out in less than 48h. Sorted by rarity, each of the 24 cities shown on the outer ring of the dial – representing the world’s 24 time zones- has been allocated a set number of NFTs. The value of each NFT increases based on the rarity of the city. Among these pieces are hidden the digital twins of each of the 10 Classics Worldtimer Manufacture models released since 2012. The lucky owner of the 2022 steel version will have the privilege of being gifted the physical watch.

Frederique Constant, a Swiss watchmaking manufacturer founded in 1988, established itself as a major player within the industry through unprecedented technical achievements. Thanks to a cutting edge and innovative spirit, the Brand has developed 30 in-house calibers, with the latest being the FC-810 Monolithic Manufacture movement beating at 40 Hz and equipped with a revolutionary mechanism.

Frederique Constant has always been passionate about technology, aiming to push boundaries to explore new horizons. Over the past 34 years, Frederique Constant has proven its ability to come up with ground-breaking innovations. As a mechanical and technical pioneer within the watchmaking industry, Frederique Constant brought this ability to innovate into the digital universe by being among the first Swiss brands to create an NFT generative project. Entering the world of NFTs was a logical step for a company that isn’t afraid to embrace the future and experiment with new technologies.

Entering the Web3 universe

On May 28th, Frederique Constant was thrilled to present a new and exciting milestone in its history by bringing the iconic and best-selling Classics Worldtimer Manufacture models into the world of NFTs. In collaboration with the luxury marketplace Exclusible and the Web3 agency Rarecubes, the Brand unveiled the Time to Travel exclusive series of 888 unique NFTs, ranging from classic designs to colourful and unique looks, to pay tribute to the 10th Anniversary of this iconic timepiece introduced in 2012.

An NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is a digital piece that is part of a blockchain. It guarantees ownership of a digital piece of any type: artwork, avatar, art object, musical piece etc.

To remain loyal to its mission, Frederique Constant chose to launch this project at an affordable price (mint price of 0.123 ETH) to allow more watch aficionados to explore and enjoy this fascinating world that is the Web3. The entirety of the collection proved to be very successful and sold out in less than 48h.

Time to Travel: 888 unique journeys

The Time to Travel series allows one to travel the world by reproducing the Worldtimer experience in its virtual form. To honour this journey, all of the 24 reference cities listed on the outer ring of the dial -representing the 24 time zones- have been allocated a set number of NFTs. Therefore, each watch is highlighted within an architectural and visual environment reminiscent of the city.

However, not all cities and watches are worth the same value: in fact, some are rarer than others. And the rarer the city is, the more benefits are unlocked. Geneva being Frederique Constant’s birthplace, is, therefore, the most exclusive city, and has been allocated 10 NFTs: the exact digital twins of each of the 10 variations of the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture launched from 2012 to 2022 – the stainless steel 2022 version only.

The benefits granted by each NFT will be split into four levels (Common – Rare – Legend – Unique) and may vary, for instance, from accessing the Brand’s NFT projects in preview to personalizing the reference city, accessing the Frederique Constant Metaverse space or even receiving a free NFT in 2023. Finally, the ultimate and unique benefit goes to the lucky owner of the 2022 stainless steel Classics Worldtimer Manufacture NFT timepiece, who will be gifted the physical version of the digital watch, allowing him/her to undergo a “phygital” experience by enjoying both versions simultaneously.

To enhance the adventure, both the city and the watch design were kept secret and were revealed only after the NFT was purchased.

On this occasion, Frederique Constant also presented its first NFT project, a limited edition of 50 digital twins of the Classics Worldtimer Manufacture 10th Anniversary timepiece in stainless steel, to be awarded to a select group of buyers of the timepiece via a draw. Registration closes on September 30th, 2022, with the draw due to take place on October 4th, 2022, at 5:00 pm (CET).

Choosing a gauge size

The gauge size is an important aspect of the ring design. The ring design does not only involve the beauty of looking at it. The ring design also involves the aspects of its comfortability and how beautiful it is when worn. A good ring design should perfectly fit and complement the finger or hands in general of the wearer. Aside from its stand-alone beauty, it should also look gorgeous and make the finger look more gorgeous when it is worn. This means that there is an appropriate gauge size for every finger size, dimension, shape, and even skin color.

Choosing the style

The ring style and design are always subjective. It could be objective in any case if your want to put some theme on your proposal. When choosing the design, you can go for which design really suits her, which design greatly represents your magical feeling towards her, or which design greatly symbolizes how you know and see her personality. We have small stones to bigger stones. In choosing the engagement ring, the size of the diamond does not matter but it is the preferences of your future fiancé acute is your greatest measure. Hence, it could also be your budget. Whether you have an enormous budget or not, we have a vast collection that you could still choose from and get that dreamy engagement ring for your future bride.

Budgeting

You do not need to buy the most expensive diamond engagement ring. What you need is the ring that flickers the most right through your eyes and heart. It is also important to decide on the payment method of your purchase. Make sure the pricing is something that is practical for you. Moreover, it is still more important to think about your priority expenses such as basic needs and commodities for
your daily living. Engagement ring prices that you can purchase should not go higher than the three- quarters of your monthly income

The Difference Between Fashion and Fine Jewellery?

The Difference Between Fashion and Fine Jewellery
The Difference Between Fashion and Fine Jewellery

The Difference Between Fashion and Fine Jewellery?

There is a very big difference between fashion and fine jewellery that everybody will be able to tell and that is the price tag. Furthermore, it is the materials that are also different from these two types of jewellery.

You don’t need to be a jewellery expert to be able to tell these two differences. The materials also have an impact on the price. As you can imagine, if fake gold is being used instead of real gold, that jewellery piece is going to be much cheaper.

What Is Fashion Jewellery?

Fashion jewellery can also be known as costume jewellery. As mentioned in the introduction, the materials that are used for fashion jewellery are much different compared to fine jewellery. Nine times out of ten, you will be spending a lot more money on fine jewellery compared to fashion jewellery.

Common materials that are used for fashion jewellery are brass, copper and aluminium. These metals will tend to tarnish easily as well as be much weaker than fine jewellery. If you are not bothered by your jewellery damaging easily, this will be more appropriate for you.

For women, fashion jewellery will be more appropriate for your night out dresses and other evening wear that you may be wearing. For men, fashion jewellery will be more appropriate if it just complements your going out outfit.

Fashion jewellery is also made of textiles, beads or other leather products. The cheaper materials will often be coated with either silver or gold to give it more of a valuable look. Modern fashion jewellery will also consist of fake gemstone or Swarovski crystals to also make it more valuable. This will be much cheaper than those fine jewellery pieces although they will be much weaker.

Many jewellery enthusiasts suggest that there should be another category in the middle of these two. The jewellery types that will be in this category are gold vermeil, gold-plated or they can also be filled with gold. If you are not sure what these types of jewellery are, we will describe them for you so you can have a better understanding.

Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil is similar to gold plated, there is only a minor difference between the two types of jewellery. Gold vermeil has a layer over the top of silver which would be exactly 2.5 microns. Gold plated is any measurement of the gold layer over the piece of jewellery. Gold vermeil has become increasingly popular in recent years and also adds value to jewellery.

Gold Plated

Gold plating is usually a thin layer on top of the jewellery. The metal that would usually be used will either be copper, aluminium, brass or other materials that are often used for fashion jewellery. The process for making gold plated jewellery is done by adding a thin layer to the other metal before using an electric current to bind the two together.

Gold-Filled Jewellery

Gold-filled jewellery is much better quality than gold plated jewellery. There is a chance of gold-plated jewellery to rub off however that is the opposite with gold-filled jewellery. Not only will it look better but it will also have much better durability as well. This is one of the more valuable jewellery pieces for fashion jewellery.

Fine Jewellery
The Difference Between Fashion and Fine Jewellery?

Fine Jewellery

Fine jewellery is where you are going to be spending a lot more money. This is something that you will have to heavily consider before purchasing. Furthermore, it is going to be much better quality than fashion jewellery and be a lot more durable.

The standard materials that you will come across with fine jewellery are platinum, silver and gold. Fine jewellery can also consist of expensive gemstones as well that you wouldn’t often see. Some of the gemstones that you would expect to see are diamonds, rubies, garnets and other gemstones.

With fine jewellery, you can expect to be spending a lot more money. This could either be down to the high quality of the jewellery or the brand that you are buying it from. Like clothing, you don’t need to buy from luxury brands just because of the name.

Fine jewellery won’t damage as easily as fashion jewellery. Another thing to mention is that if you damage your fine jewellery piece, you will usually be able to get it repaired at a jewellery store.

To Conclude

When it comes to what you want to buy, you need to remember what you can afford. It is all well and good looking at expensive fine jewellery but you might necessarily need to spend that much. If you are going to be wearing it for a special occasion, you will want to wear fine jewellery.

Watchmaking: Scatola del Tempo celebrates its 33rd anniversary in Geneva
Handmade and excellence: top leather cases and accessories on the market

In 1989, an invention, a premier ever! Had it not been for the ingenuity of Italian collector Sandro Colarieti, it is not sure that the market for rotating winders would have existed. Back to the roots, at the Time to Watches exhibition in Geneva.

Geneva from March 31 to April 03, 2022. Having celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in 2019 with the return of its iconic Rotor-One, the very first watch winder, and the beginning of a new horological segment, Scatola del Tempo continues to dominate the world of useful and… ultra-luxury accessories.

The craftsmanship of its creations, the organic nobleness of its leathers, and the richness of its woods, go beyond the world of the rotating winder to give a soul to luxurious interiors, to travel, or to transport precious timepieces. An exclusive signature, made of sensual curves, careful sewings, and overstitching, synonymous with excellence, Italian style…

It all began in 1989 when, on the Italian shores of Lake Como, timepiece collector Sandro Colarietti attracted the attention with his find of then-Patek Philippe president Philippe Stern. The 500 units ordered were the beginning of an extraordinary entrepreneurial adventure, one that epitomizes new needs. There was a before and an after! It was the beginning of an era that transformed the Scatola del Tempo
label into a truly global prestige brand with a noble mission: to contribute to the health, maintenance, and protection of valuable timepieces.

Scatola des Tempo, from Rotor-One to the craziest storage furniture A signature synonymous with Italian excellence and universal aesthetic standards, Scatola del Tempo now uses Swiss-made SwissKubiK engineering in all its winders, combining the best of both worlds. It also has a mastery of the ultimate in made-to-measure. Since it successfully ventured into the territory of storage furniture, pouches, or travel cases, it designs and manufactures the most stunning accessories.

Watchmaking: Scatola del Tempo celebrates its 33rd anniversary in Geneva

Collectors joined by design lovers

Every watch enthusiast has at least one model of the Scatola del Tempo brand in his cupboards, trunk, or closet, and if possible its famous Rotor-One. Collectors, connoisseurs? Sandro Colarieti, founder of the Scatola del Tempo brand was one of them. He was one of those enthusiasts for whom the care given to mechanical watches sometimes went beyond mental propriety! Thanks to him, aficionados and true mechanical watches enthusiasts have made the Rotor-One the absolute reference since its arrival on the market. A reference
recommended nowadays by the most prestigious watchmaking brands. An ultimate standard that also fits seamlessly into the heart
of high-end private interiors.

These watches that should never stop

In the world of mechanical watches, there are those timepieces that ought never to stop, either because their calendar complications would transform their time settings into real headaches, or because their automatic winding mechanism increases their life span if it is kept in motion when the piece is momentarily out of use. These timepieces, which require special attention and care, are transcended by Scatola del Tempo’s aesthetic enhancements, both at home and
when traveling.

Vicenzaoro will host over 1,000 exhibiting brands from 27 countries with the return of companies from countries such as Hong Kong, Thailand and India that are loosening restrictions on mobility. Europe’s first international gold and jewelry event: IEG: VICENZAORO 2022 KICKS OFF TOMORROW

With Vicenzaoro, IEG intends to strengthen its role in support of training, on the one hand by promoting the initiatives of trade associations, technical institutes (Vicenzaoro will host the RETE TAM Assembly) and universities, and on the other, by enhancing the attractiveness of the sector. An example of this is the Inspiration Boards project promoted by influencer Laura Inghirami, entrepreneur and founder of Donna Jewel, which will bring new generations to the show and, in particular, second-year students from the IED (European Institute of Design) in Turin on the university course in Fashion Design, specialising in Jewellery Design. Training continues with Assogemme, Fondazione Mani Intelligenti, the Gem Talk programme and Digital Talks.

Seminars organised by CIBJO, which is also holding its general assembly at Vicenzaoro, and Assocoral will be exploring topics regarding sustainability. A consolidated trend in the world of jewellery is the circular economy, to which the meeting was organised by Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, the first independent observatory, devised by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and specialising in jewellery forecasting, is also dedicated. Market trends and opinions will be presented by Club Degli Orafi together with Intesa Sanpaolo.

T.GOLD will offer an insight into innovation and technology with the Jewellery Technology Forum and a new edition of the Startup & Carats project, organised with the support of ITA to give visibility to young entrepreneurial companies, thus encouraging new relationships and business opportunities.

As for watchmaking, VO’Clock Privé will be offering courses open to the general public on Saturday and Sunday and organised by the Geneva institution FHH – Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and the CAPAC watchmaking school in Milan.

Once again, the city of Vicenza will play a fundamental role thanks to the now unmissable appointment with VIOFF, Vicenzaoro’s Off Show, which, with an exciting range of events, will further welcome visitors through the enhancement of the territory and its excellence.

Tips For Taking Your Jewellery Collection on Holiday!

Taking Your Jewellery Collection on Holiday

Tips For Taking Your Jewellery Collection on Holiday!

Taking your jewellery collection on holiday can help to make sure every outfit is complete, however, you do need to be careful when it comes to how you pack and store your jewellery when you are away. So, we are here to introduce a few simple tips to keep your jewellery safe whilst you are on holiday!

Keep It In Your Hand Luggage

The first tip we have is to keep your jewellery with you in your hand luggage. Firstly, check-in bags often get lost, so if you have sentimental or expensive jewellery, it is particularly important to keep them with you. Although lost baggage is often returned to the owner, this isn’t always the case, so it is best to keep it with you.

Also, when you check in your jewellery, it will go into the hold which can reach very low temperatures when you are flying. When a piece of jewellery is too hot or cold, it can cause damage to gemstones, particularly if you have more delicate jewellery.

All in all, having jewellery in your hand luggage will keep it in the best condition possible and you can also rest in the knowledge that it is safe with you!

Pack Each Piece Individually

Next up, you need to make sure that each piece of jewellery is packed individually in soft pouches. This will make sure that nothing rubs together so none of your jewellery will get tarnished.

If you pack any clothing in your carry-on luggage, such as special pieces of luxury clothing that you didn’t want to check-in, keeping the jewellery in soft pouches is especially important so that nothing gets caught on the clothing that could potentially pull the thread and cause damage.

The best way to pack your jewellery is in a small, travel jewellery box, where each piece can be stored separately and there is no risk of it causing damage to anything else in your hand luggage.

Keep It At Room Temperature

When you arrive at your holiday, you need to make sure that you keep your jewellery at room temperature. As mentioned, if your jewellery is too hot or cold, it can damage settings or gemstones. So, if you are visiting a very hot or cold country, try to keep the room at room temperature.

You also need to make sure that your jewellery is kept in a dry place, as any kind of humidity or moisture can seriously affect fine jewellery. This is why taking a portable jewellery box is great, as it will help to protect the jewellery from the majority of the humidity. You should also keep your jewellery collection in a cupboard or wardrobe when you are away, to make sure that no direct sunlight is shining on it and heating up the jewellery box!

Don’t Wear Your Jewellery With Suncream or in Water

Our last tip is to make sure that you don’t wear your jewellery with suncream or in water. Suncream can easily build up on your jewellery, causing settings or clasps to be gunked up and dirty.

Also, when it comes to water, it can cause jewellery to tarnish and discolour. Pool water contains chlorine that is very damaging and saltwater can cause erosion. For these reasons, it is best to remove jewellery completely during the day to prevent any damage, and then save your wonderful collection for the evenings when it won’t be at risk of damage!
