When size matters The new JEANRICHARD Terrascope 39 mm

0
JEANRICHARD Terrascope
JEANRICHARD has developed its Terrascope in a second 39 mm diameter ideally suited for any wrist. This new face for the brand’s iconic model is celebrated by the launch of several striking versions, including some flagship feminine watches. A new approach for all Philosophers of Life to whom size really matters.

JEANRICHARD Terrascope

With its unique design and style that is both sporty and refined, the JEANRICHARD Terrascope has emerged as a new watchmaking icon. It bears the hallmark of a Philosophy of Life focused on discovery, adventure and the desire to go one step further each time. In addition to the basic models displaying a 44 mm diameter, the JEANRICHARD Terrascope now offers a new 39 mm size, with subtly reviewed proportions. Perfect dimensions to dress any wrist, while keeping the strong presence and assertive character of this watch alive. The Terrascope 39 mm keeps the same highly original case with a cushion-shaped middle part and the round bezel, while reinterpreting it to experience new dimensions. Its ingenious modular concept with sophisticated construction in several parts, allows materials and finishes of the different elements to be varied, giving each model a different personality – and thus meeting the tastes of all everyday life’s adventurers – now especially the feminine ones. A new feature of these innovative JEANRICHARD models is also the see-through case-back now implemented for this whole collection. Made of sapphire glass, the back of the watch gives insight on the black oscillating weight of the self-winding mechanical movement.

JEANRICHARD Terrascope
A new emblem of the JEANRICHARD Philosophy of Life
With its new 39 mm diameter, the Terrascope, more than ever, embodies the whole JEANRICHARD Philosophy of Life with a thirst for adventure and exploration, making each day a new journey. This is illustrated by the new 39 mm version of the collection’s iconic model, with a steel case, black dial and a black rubber strap. Dedicated to men and women alike, this new strong companion displays a contemporary, understated and original style, enhanced by the refined contrast between a “vertically satin-finishing” (on the flat parts of the middle case and lateral bars) and a polished finishing (on the bevels). The vertically satin-finished black dial is decorated with suspended indexes. The contrasting shaped hour/minute hands offer excellent readability, enhanced by luminescent touches and a second hand with a red tip. The double sided and reversible strap with its folding clasp, features either a ribbed rubber part or the “Rubbergator” when turned around and combines both sporty and elegant styles while feeling very comfortable on the wrist. This is a new emblem of the JEANRICHARD Philosophy of Life.

The Time has come for the JEANRICHARD women
The launch of the Terrascope 39 mm is also an opportunity for JEANRICHARD to play with different modular case possibilities by offering new models with exclusively feminine designs. These watches combine sportiness and elegance to make these new feminine timepieces both, a jewellery item and companions of every day adventures who share every moment of active living. A tribute to the woman of today and her many facets – refined and determined, adventurous and glamorous.
Within this new size of the Terrascope collection, it’s time to highlight the following 4 pieces:
The first model combines strength and delicacy, with a steel case pairing a pink mother of pearl dial with suspended indexes and rhodium-plated hands. The colour of the dial is mirrored by the flange and the alligator strap, offering a unique contrast to the vertically satin-finish of the steel on the bezel and the middle case.
The second watch, also in steel, opts for a touch of radiance, with a bezel set with 54 diamonds and ivory-coloured mother of pearl dial, enhanced with suspended indexes and rhodium finished hands. It is worn on a steel bracelet with three linked rows that elegantly and flexibly circle around the female wrist.
For the design of its third Terrascope 39 mm women’s watch, JEANRICHARD has fitted the steel case with a pink gold bezel set with 54 diamonds and combined the radiance of gala evenings with a casual chic watch. This crown of brilliant-cut diamonds dramatically illuminates the mysterious mother of pearl dial, with suspended indexes and pink gold plated hands. The jewellery-like touch is reinforced by the steel bracelet with satin finish, bevels and polished sides.
The fourth women’s design is distinguished by its steel case perfectly matching a pink gold bezel and a champagne-coloured grained dial decorated with suspended indexes and pink gold plated hands. This pastel harmony is enhanced by the bracelet in grey ostrich skin.
With its strong design, size to fit any wrist and refined versions, the Terrascope 39 mm offers a new dimension to JEANRICHARD’s Philosophy of Life – for men and women – and for many more “companions” of every day adventurers to come.

Three is a charm: JEANRICHARD now partner of both BNY Mellon Boat Races
The Swiss Luxury Watch Manufacturer is for the third time partner of The BNY Mellon Boat Race and as a first also of The Newton Women’s Boat Race

JEANRICHARD is the official timekeeper of The BNY Mellon Boat Race and will support this prestigious and venerable race for the third consecutive time in 2015. As a premiere, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer will also be the official timekeeper and watch for The Newton Women’s Boat Race, both taking place on 11th April 2015 in London, United Kingdom, as the Oxford Presidents accepted the challenges made by the Cambridge Presidents at the Autumn Reception held at the BNY Mellon Headquarters.
For the third year in a row, JEANRICHARD will serve as the Official Timekeeper and Timepiece of The 161st Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, when the University Boat Clubs face each other on the Thames on Saturday, 11th April 2015 for the world’s most renowned and traditional Boat Race.

For the 2015 event The BNY Mellon Boat Race will be joined by The Newton Women’s Boat Race for the very first time and will mark sporting history, when thousands of live spectators along the banks of the Thames and millions of TV viewers from the UK and worldwide will follow both the men’s and women’s Races.
Both, The BNY Mellon Boat Races and JEANRICHARD have common values and beliefs that are deeply rooted in their respective Philosophy of Life. The men’s and women’s teams of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Clubs show dedication, endurance and passion in their Races, all common attributes with JEANRICHARD.
This partnership was also entered into under the aegis of the JEANRICHARD’s Aquascope collection and generated already an exclusive timepiece: an Aquascope model designed in the race’s traditional colours, with a minute-circle and double hour-marker at 12 o’clock reproducing the two shades of blue corresponding to the two teams (Dark Blue for Oxford, Light Blue for Cambridge), a blue rubber strap with a finely-ribbed surface, and a seconds hand adorned with an arrow referring to the logo of the Race. The Aquascope edition for the Newton Women’s Boat Race will in addition feature the “rubbergator” strap in all feminine white. This new development by JEANRICHARD combines the style and elegance of an alligator-skin strap with the water-resistance of a strap made out of rubber.
“The partnership with The BNY Mellon Boat Races is an example of how JEANRICHARD’s Philosophy of Life is executed in a passionate yet highly intense challenge” said Bruno Grande, Managing Director of JEANRICHARD. “With pleasure we announce the support of The Newton Women’s Boat Race for the first time and also the creation of an exclusive Aquascope timepiece for the ladies”.
The BNY Mellon Boat Race and The Newton Women’s Boat Race will take place on Saturday 11th April 2015 at 5.50pm and 4.50pm respectively.

ABOUT THE OXFORD CAMBRIDGE BOAT RACE
The Oxford Cambridge Boat Race was founded in 1829 by two friends and students at the respective universities. It has risen to become one of the oldest sports events in the world – and one of the most revered traditions in Great Britain. It has been held annually since 1856, with an exception during the two World Wars. Nowadays it attracts over 250,000 spectators on site and is watched by about 7.5 million BBC television viewers. And that does not include the international viewership from the broadcasting in over 200 countries throughout the world.
The Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race – known as The BNY Mellon Boat Race after its main sponsor – is played out on a 6.8-kilometre stretch on the Thames River between Putney and Mortlake to the west of the centre of London. It requires outstanding athletic form and great commitment from the participants. The crews are selected from students at the two universities. They train intensely for over six months, while at the same time pursuing their studies full time. Tradition has it that the loser of the previous year’s event has to go to the winner to throw down the gauntlet.

Girard-Perregaux 1966 Collection Enamel Dial Limited – Edition

0
Girard-Perregaux 1966 Collection Enamel Dial Limited
Girard-Perregaux 1966 Collection Enamel Dial Limited
These traditional techniques have been passed down the ages, without alteration to their essential requirements, formulas and know-how. These techniques consist in fixing the enamel powder and ensuring its harmonious balance through heat during delicate firing stages. The colour obtained remains unaffected by
time or external factors, and stays the same year after year.

Girard-Perregaux introduces 3 limited editions showcasing exceptional watchmaking expertise and craftsmanship and using two main distinct enamelling processes:
Miniature Painting: the base plate is enamelled in white. Coloured enamels are then used to painstakingly decorate the surface of the dial using a microscope for precision. The dial is fired after every colour application, starting from the most resilient colours to the most delicate ones. The piece is then finished with
one last transparent layer of enamel.

Cloisonné: the designs or figures are drawn by arranging into shape pieces of fine gold wire, into which the enamel is applied. The liquid enamel is laid into the cavities using a brush. Next comes the firing, timed to the minute in a furnace at 800°C. After cooling, the excess enamel is removed by vigorous sanding using a hard stone and water. The dial is then manually polished with a diamond file, before a last firing called “Dorure” or gilding adds shine and reveals the enamel’s full splendour.
Girard-Perregaux 1966 ‘Pur Sang’ – Miniature ENAMEL Painting
This limited edition of the understated Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection is paying tribute to the untamed beauty of the magnificent Arabian ‘pur sang’ with its distinctive head shape and unmistakable elegance. Known as one of the oldest breeds in the world, the Arabian horse captivates the heart. Its eloquent head that has been artistically reproduced for hundreds of years is now featured on the dial in a vibrant hand-painted miniature.
Girard-Perregaux 1966 ‘The Map’ & ‘The World’ – Cloisonné Enamel
The vision of the dial of these two timepieces offers a vibrant example of Cloisonné enamel beautifully decorated with a map of the world, a great classic in the Haute Horlogerie tradition. Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and Australia are delicately outlined by tiny wires of gold precisely delimiting their contours and enamels hues. An invitation to voyage revealing new horizons of dreams.
These Girard-Perregaux 1966 limited editions are housed in the elegant Girard-Perregaux 1966 round case and beat in time to the fine GP03300 calibre. The diversity and richness of the decorations and finishes adorning the multiple components of the movement can be seen through a transparent sapphire case-back.
