It was the year 1959 when Mustafa Tufan, the board chairman of Tufan Saat first entered the watch market with the direct sales of some Swiss brands in his first foundation, Emel Ticarethanesi. In the following 8 years he has gone through a serious search for a brand that could create competition in the watch sector with its high sales volume. During this time, he deeply took the taste, needs and life style of Turkish customers into account, and also observed the sales data of various brands that are already in Turkish market.
The first store that introduced the progressive style of the company, was opened to public just after 8 years. 5 years later Osmanbey Store was opened and thereafter in 1976 it was moved to the building, which currently is being used as the central office.
In short, 1976 is considered as a turning point for the company after the acquisition of distributorships of Rado. Now, Tufan Saat is carrying the pride of being identified with Rado, which manufactures very special watches with all having the feature of being scratchproof, since the firm has been bringing the brand to Turkey for 32 years. The company has gone through a restructuring in 1982 to gather under the name of a ”family company” therefore changed its title as Tufan Saat San. A.Ş. and also thoughout the same year the 3rd store was opened at Bahariye.
In 1996, another store in Şaşkınbakkal was opened and in the following year, the store was doubled in its size parallel to its customer potential.
In the year 2000, Tufan Saat became the distributor of Certina, one of the deepest rooted brands of Swiss watchmaking and an important member of Swatch Group that is the world’s first watch to display human daily biorythms, with which one can follow the physical, mental and emotional rhythms at a glance.
In 2001, Fréderique Constant one of the most prestigious brands of Switzerland, was made available to Turkish customers by Tufan Saat. What differentiates Fréderique Constant from others is that the production process is active in all stages through main design to end assembling.
1959 yılında Tufan Saat Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Mustafa Tufan tarafından kurulan Tufan Saat , Emel Ticarethanesi adı ile bazı İsviçre saat markalarının toptan pazarlaması ile ticaret hayatına giriş yapmıştır.
Kurulduğu günden bu yana Türk insanının beğenisi, yaşam tarzı ve standartlarına orantılı bir şekilde, Türkiye’de varolan bazı saat markalarının satış grafiklerini gözlemleyerek güçlü bir marka arayışına girmiştir.
İlk perakende mağazasını kuruluşundan sadece 8 yıl sonra açan Tufan Saat, bundan sadece 5 yıl sonra da bugün Tufan Saat’in merkezi olarak hizmet vermekte olan Osmanbey mağazasını açtı. Ve 1976 yılına gelindiğinde şirketin esas büyük atılımı olan RADO markasının Türkiye temsilciliğinin alınması, Tufan Saat’in bu markayla uzun sürecek olan bir iş ve dostluk ortaklığının da temellerini de atmış oluyordu. Dünyada çizilmezlik özelliği olan ve çok özel saatler üreten Rado markasının Türkiye temsilciliğini 32 yıldır başarıyla sürdüren Tufan Saat, Rado markasının kendisiyle özdeşleşmesinin haklı gururunu yaşamaktadır.
1982 yılında bugünkü adını alan Tufan Saat, hemen aynı yıl Bahariye’de, 1996’da da Şaşkınbakkal’daki mağazasını açmış ve mağaza hemen 1 yıl sonrasında varolan müşteri potansiyeline oranla daha da genişletilmiştir. 2000 yılında İsviçre saatçiliğinin en köklü markalarından, günlük bioritm gösteren ilk saati üreten ve bir SWATCH GROUP markası olan Certina markasının Türkiye temsilciliğini almıştır. 2001 yılına gelindiğinde, İsviçre’nin en prestijli markalarından olan ve ana dizayndan birleştirmeye kadar olan saat üretim sürecinin her aşamasını aktif olarak gerçekleştiren Frederique Constant markasının Türkiye temsilciliği alınmıştır.
2002 yılında da açılan Akmerkez mağazasıyla mağaza sayısı 4’e ulaşmıştır.
2003 yılında Tufan Saat çok özel saatlerini sınırlı sayıda üreten ve el yapımı olarak üreten ve yine bir İsviçre markası olan Paul Picot’un Türkiye temsilciliğini almıştır. Ve son olarak yine bir SWATCH GROUP markası olan MIDO’da Tufan Saat ailesine katılmıştır.
Tufan Saat tamamen İsviçre Saatçilik normlarında Saat Hastanesi hizmetini Türkiye’de uygulayan ilk firmadır.Tufan Saat bugün 2006 Eylül’de 30. yılını kutladığı Rado markası ile birlikte, Frederique Constant, Certina, Paul Picot, ve Mido markalarının Türkiye temsilciliğini yapmakta; 4 mağazası , yurt geneline yayılmış geniş bayi ağı ve sağlam alt yapısıyla ülkemizin köklü saat ithalatçılarından biridir..
